Ligament Injuries

PCL Tear & Reconstruction

PCL (Posterior Cruciate Ligament) is the primary stabilizer that supports the back of the knee, preventing the leg bone from sliding backwards. When injured, PCL tears can result in sagging of the leg, instability, difficulty in climbing stairs, and joint pain. Because of altered knee biomechanics, untreated PCL tears can lead to long-term patellofemoral and medial compartment osteoarthritis.

PCL Insufficiency

Symptoms & Impact

PCL tears result in posterior sagging of the shinbone. Patients experience chronic pain, instability on descending stairs or slopes, and increased loading on the joint cartilage.

PCL Reconstruction

Surgical Treatment

We perform arthroscopic PCL reconstruction using robust autograft tendons. The graft is anatomically fixed to restore normal tibial translation and knee mechanics.

Multi-Ligament Injuries

Complex Instability Care

PCL is often torn in combination with other ligaments (ACL, MCL, LCL) in high-energy trauma or knee dislocations. We specialize in single-stage multi-ligament reconstructions.
